Since September 5, the image of the Virgin has remained for 37 days in the side nave of the Basilica of Teror.
The image of Our Lady of the Pine will return to her Camarín next Sunday, October 12, after remaining in the side nave of the Basilica during the Feast of the Pine, close to the thousands of pilgrims who have visited her.
After the 7:00 p.m. Mass, presided over by the Reverend José Domínguez Pérez, assigned to the Parish of Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the image of the Virgin will once again ascend to the high altar of the Basilica, where she is usually located.
The ascent of Our Lady of the Pine to her Camarín marks the end of the patronal festivities, although this year the stay has been extended for a few additional days beyond the official festive program, remaining for a total of 37 days (since September 5) in the side nave of the Basilica.
This solemn ceremony takes place after the Eucharist and is a deeply emotional event, with the image ascending through a decorated rail system. The faithful gather to venerate the Virgin before her ascent, which symbolizes her farewell until the following year.
On Sunday, October 12, the Basilica of the Pine will also offer Masses at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m.
